Summer Concerts at Caramoor and Ravinia
This August, Garrick Ohlsson appears at two major U.S. summer festivals, bringing his celebrated artistry to prominent works by Beethoven and Mozart.
On August 3, he joins the Orchestra of St. Luke’s for the grand finale of Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts’s 80th summer season, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Op. 15. Musical America’s 2022 Conductor of the Year, Teddy Abrams, conduct the program, which also includes Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1.
A week later, on August 10, Ohlsson travels to Illinois to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival under Louis Langrée, playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22 in E-flat major, K. 482. The all-Mozart program also features the Overture to La clemenza di Tito and Symphony No. 41 in C major, K. 551 (“Jupiter”).
