Summer Festival Concerts

This summer, Garrick Ohlsson graces the stages of three of the most renowned summer festivals in the United States: Tanglewood, Aspen and Ravinia.

On July 27, he stars at Tanglewood with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Juanjo Mena on the podium. The program includes the Four Sea Interludes from Britten’s opera Peter Grimes, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-flat, and Brahms’s marvelously energetic and compact Symphony No. 3.

He then travels to Aspen, where on August 1 he joins the Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra to play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, with Robert Spano conducting. The second part of the program features Holst’s The Planets.

For his third summer appearance at Ravinia, on August 9, he plays Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor again, this time with James Conlon leading the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. On the first half of the concert the audience will enjoy Stravinsky’s Suite from Pulcinella and Strauss’ Suite from Le Bourgeois gentilhomme.
