Garrick Ohlsson performs Tchaikovsky in Vail, Colorado

Mr. Ohlsson travels to Colorado for a performance on June 28 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the prestigious Bravo! Vail Festival. Founded in 1987, this outdoor festival celebrates classical music, music education and a lifelong appreciation of the arts. This year, Mr. Ohlsson performs on an all-Tchaikovsky program, featuring the composer’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and and Symphony No. 4. Both pieces are audience favorites, and the concerto features virtuosic displays of the pianist’s talents. Jaap Van Zwedne, who will become the New York Philharmonic’s next Music Director, conducts. Pavilion and lawn seating are available, and guests may also picnic on the lawn. This concert is sure to delight audience members of all ages, but would certainly be a particularly great opportunity to introduce children to classical music.
