June Concerts

This June, Garrick Ohlsson will present a series of performances across three prestigious festivals in the United States.

On June 7, he will perform a recital for the Rockford Music Festival at the Rockport Music-Shalin Liu Performance Center.  The program includes Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 81a Les Adieux, Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy, and Misson’s Convocations. After an intermission, Ohlsson will continue with Chopin’s Variations Brilliantes Op. 12, Barcarolle Op. 60, and the dramatic Scherzo Op. 31.

Later in the month, Ohlsson will join the Grant Park Orchestra, conducted by Carlos Kalmar, for two concerts on June 21 and 22 in Chicago. The program features Gabriela Lena Frank’s Apu, Schumann’s Piano Concerto, and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 6. Following these concerts, Ohlsson will participate in the Art of Piano Festival at the San Francisco Conservatory. On June 25, he will perform an all-Chopin recital featuring the composer’s Nocturnes Op. 15, No. 1, and Op. 9, No. 3, the Barcarolle Op. 60, and the Fantaisie in F minor Op. 49. On June 26, he will lead a masterclass, sharing his expertise and insights with the next generation of pianists.
