February Concerts

The month of February will see Garrick Ohlsson perform several concerts throughout the United States.

On February 4, Garrick Ohlsson presents a recital for The Zarelda Fambrough Memorial Concert in Shriver Hall, Baltimore, MD. The thoughtful program will include works by Beethoven, Schubert and Chopin. On February 9 and 10, he joins the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra for Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3 under the baton of conductor José Luis Gómez. Repertoire also featured includes Valerie Coleman’s Umoja: Anthem for Unity and Ravel’s Rapsodie espagnole. February 15 will see Ohlsson celebrate with the Sarasota Orchestra for “Celebrate 75”, a special concert and gala celebrating the orchestra’s 75th anniversary where he will return to Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3 led by esteemed conductor Peter Oundjian. Other works featured in this concert include Gershwin’s An American in Paris, Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Tower’s Fanfare No. 1 for the Uncommon Woman.  Then on February 18, he plays the Piano Concerto No. 3 once again with the Canton Symphony led by CSO Music Director Designate, Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz. This program also includes Louise Farrenc’s Overture No. 2 and Symphony No. 4 by Robert Schumann.
