Garrick Ohlsson has won the International Ambassador of Czech Music award at the 2019 Prague Classic Awards. It is the only award exclusively intended for laureates of non-Czech origin who have displayed continued support of Czech classical music abroad. Ohlsson will appear at the ceremony to receive his award this evening at Prague’s Municipal House. The event will be broadcast live on Czech Television’s Art channel.

Ohlsson follows his win with a series of performances in the UK. He gives three concerts with the Hallé orchestra at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, performing Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini under Nicholas Collon. Ohlsson then appears at the Barbican in London with the BBC Symphony Orchestra on January 29th. He performs Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto with conductor Robert Spano. For more information click here,
