Winter Recital at Aspen Music Festival

On March 20,  Garrick Ohlsson will conclude the Aspen Music Festival’s Winter Series with a solo recital showcasing a diverse and expressive program.

The recital opens with Mozart’s Piano Sonata in E-flat major, K. 282, followed by Convocations, a work by Thomas Misson. Schubert’s lyrical Piano Sonata in A major, D. 664 completes the first half. The second half highlights Scriabin’s evocative miniatures Désir, Op. 57, No. 1 and Prélude, Op. 59, No. 2, along with his mystical Piano Sonata No. 10, Op. 70. The recital closes with two Chopin masterpieces: Nocturne in B major, Op. 62, No. 1 and Scherzo No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 31.
